NISHI PULUGURTHA

Leisure

Minutes and seconds ticked slow
The hands did not move, they seemed reluctant
Eyes stared at them in blankness
They moved away from it
A lizard flitted quickly past
The light flickered for a moment
Outside the world went on its way
A few sounds came in
Work is on as usual, they said
A few images played on in front
Sounds came from them too
They flitted for a while, the eyes
Turned away, their motion slow and dull
The noises from the phone evinced a stare
Nothing happened within, things were just as they were
Time’s motions seemed slow
Reluctant and stiff. Unwilling too.
