Bhikhu – The Buffalo Boy
I saw this boy aeons ago during my visit to a village ... he was the youngest among his peers his slim waist wrapped in a thin towel from his body permeated the odour of pungent mustard oil ! sitting astride his buffalo his black angora skin basked in the regality of the sun ! their vociferous shouts and shrieks while kicking and rolling over in the slush rent the air wild !! and finally as a mud fight developed when the boys pummelled their backs with resounding slaps the buffalo immersed itself neck deep inhaling each drop of the vileless jocundity around in complete peace with itself !!
Kaberi Chattopadhyay
Kaberi Chattopadhyay is an Author and a poet. She has served in Ramakrishna Vivekananda Mission and Army Public School as a Teacher of English. She has authored four books so far and her poems have been published in many illustrious magazines. The Books penned by her are ” Peeping Through My Window” (her autobiography focussing on her ordeal with Breast Cancer), “The Twilight Bells” (her debut collection of Poems), “The Bindupara Tales and The Four-Lettered word “Love” (her compilation of short stories), “Apparitions from the Other World” (her tryst with the paranormal activities in the form of nine stories).
