Hope and Healing…
It's good to carry some wounds in our hearts,
It makes us more humane
As we embrace our defeat and stand humbled.
We embalm our gnawing heart
With acceptance of the incomplete, the broken...
We journal the ' blessings' in a notebook
At the behest of good friends.
We seek solace in the pages of the diary
Or the canvas, or in rhythms, in myriad other things
Which capture our Void Spaces.
We reach a state of equipoise
Or so we think, to hold ourselves in Emptiness.
The inaction lulls our heart,
A relief after exhilaration.
The eyes, a steady calm.
The pounding heart steadfast.
The mind disarmed,
Grateful for being weeded out
An Escape… a Closure.
Then strangely, insidiously,
Even as we shut ourselves
Fearful of being broken again,
Hope finds its way,
And a little desire takes shape
To give ourselves another chance,
To be broken or restored
Which only Time can tell.
